Commercial Equine Liability
This is a liability policy designed for horse professionals in the business of equine training, breeding, boarding, riding instruction – and more!
It will cover you for accidents causing injury to people, or damage to their property as a result of your horse business. In the event that you are held responsible and legally obligated to pay for such damages, it will pay up to the policy occurrence limit. You can select limits of liability coverage ranging from $300,000 to $1,000,000. Optional professional liability coverage is available in most cases.
This policy also provides for the payment of legal defense costs associated with a claim or lawsuit, up to the limit of the policy.
And when that’s not enough coverage, we can also provide Excess liability, or Umbrella coverage (in most states).
Care, Custody & Control Liability
This coverage is designed for horse operations that have non-owned horses in their regular “care, custody and control” (CCC) for training, boarding, breeding, etc.
This policy provides coverage for you if a non-owned horse is injured, killed, or stolen, and you are held legally responsible by either the owner or their insurance company.
The CCC policy contains two limits of liability coverage. The first limit applies per horse, and the second is a maximum limit that will be paid out per policy.
This policy also provides for the payment of legal defense costs associated with a claim or lawsuit, up to the limit of the policy.
Personal Horse Owners Liability
This coverage is available to people who own horses purely for their personal use and enjoyment. The policy is designed to protect you if your horse injures someone, or damages someone else’s property and you are held responsible. Most homeowner’s policies do not provide coverage for your horses. You’re covered even when your horse is away from your premises.
The policy also provides for the payment of legal defense costs associated with a claim or lawsuit, up to the limit of the policy.
This policy will not provide coverage for any type of commercial horse activity. In the event that your owned horses are used for business such as pony rides, horse drawn vehicle rides, you will need a Commercial Equine Liability policy above.
Horse Club Liability
Horse clubs and their typical functions pose unique exposures that can lead to liability claims against them. Our horse club policy is designed to provide general liability coverage for all approved equine activities throughout the year (for example: shows, trail rides, clinics, parades, etc.) in the event that the club is sued for causing property damage or bodily injury to a third party.
Limits ranging from $300,000 to $1,000,000 per occurrence are available. This policy also provides for the payment of legal defense costs associated with a claim or lawsuit, up to the limit of the policy.
The policy premium is based on the number of horse show/event days open to the public. Any “members only” functions are automatically covered under the policy year-round.
Note: Property that is in the club’s care, custody and control, such as a leased facility is excluded from property damage coverage. Injury to event participants and club members is excluded from coverage. The policy is intended to pay for damages to third parties only. This policy is often referred to as “spectator” coverage.
Horse Show & Event Liability
This coverage is designed for individuals or organizations that put on horse events, exhibition shows, competitions, and clinics. This policy will cover you if you are sued for property damage or bodily injury and are legally obligated to pay for the damages.
This policy also provides for the payment of legal defense costs associated with a claim or lawsuit, up to the limit of the policy.
Note: Property that is in your care, custody and control, such as a leased facility is excluded from property damage coverage. Injury to event participants is excluded from coverage. The policy is intended to pay for damages to third parties only. This policy is often referred to as “spectator” coverage.
The policy premium for this coverage is based on the number of event days, number of participants/competitors and the estimated number of spectators. The day before and the day after an event are automatically covered to include any set-up or take-down of the event.
