Policy Renewal
Your renewal notice is typically sent
30-60 days in advance of the policy expiration by email, unless you have
requested contact by regular mail. Please review the information that we
send to you, and call us with any coverage questions, or to inquire about
policy changes.
In order to renew your policy, we must have your completed paperwork prior to the expiration date of your policy. There is no automatic extension of coverage. You may forward the documents to us via fax, mail, or email. For your convenience, PayPal payments are accepted on our website, or credit card payments are accepted by phone. Please make sure to provide us with a current email address so that we may contact you if we have any questions.
If necessary, please be sure to include current show or performance records, breeding information, and/or training fees to insure that the current value of your horse is justified. It is very important that you report any changes in the animal’s health, including the date of the incident, the diagnosis, treatment and current status of the horse in relation to any problems that occurred in the last 12 months. Based on the information provided, an exclusion may apply to the renewal policy. Please review the section on “Exclusions” for further details.
Your renewal policy will be sent to you by email within 30 days of receiving your completed paperwork and payment. Be sure to record the policy number and emergency claims telephone number provided with the policy documents.
Mortality Policy Changes
If it is necessary to make
changes to your policy, please contact us and follow up with your request in
writing. You can use the Statement of Health on this site to add coverage
options, increase the value of your horse, or record a change of use. In the
event you need to cancel your policy, please notify us in writing. It will
take approximately 30 days to receive any premium refunds from the insurance
company.
Claim Procedures
Claims must be immediately reported
to the claims department at the insurance company, and the contact number is
located in your policy. In the event of death of an insured animal, you must
arrange for a licensed vet to perform a necropsy. It is important that you
speak directly with a claims adjuster to obtain approval prior to any
surgical procedures and/or euthanasia.

Binders
In order to bind Mortality coverage, we must
receive a completed application and statement of health, and in some cases,
a recent vet exam. This information may be faxed or emailed to us to
expedite coverage. Coverage can be bound upon receipt of the paperwork and
your premium payment.
Exclusions
A Full Mortality policy is “term”
coverage. This means that the policy is written for a period of one (1) year
only based on the application submitted. Any conditions occurring prior to
the inception of the policy term are considered pre-existing, and a coverage
exclusion may apply. Prior to the policy expiration, the underwriter will
evaluate the health and value of the animal and advise us of their renewal
terms. Depending on the current health condition, a coverage exclusion may
be considered for removal upon renewal with updated health information.
Payment Plans
We’re pleased to offer payment plans
for your Mortality coverage premium, including a two-month plan ($10 finance
fee), and a three-month plan ($15 finance fee). Some insurance companies
offer additional finance options. We also accept credit card payments by
phone, and PayPal payments on our website.

Policy Renewal
Your renewal notice is typically sent
30-60 days in advance of the policy expiration by email, unless you have
requested contact by regular mail. Please review the information that we
send to you, and call us with any coverage questions, or to inquire about
policy changes. If paperwork is required to renew your coverage, please
return the completed forms to us prior to your expiration date.
Your renewal notice will have instructions for paying your premium. If your mortgage company is responsible for paying the premium on your behalf, please let us know so we can be sure they receive a copy of the invoice and updated policy information.
A copy of your policy will be sent to you by email within 30 days of the policy effective date. Be sure to record the policy number and emergency claims telephone number provided with the policy documents.
Policy Changes
Most changes to your policy can be
handled with an emailed request. In the event that we need your signature to
process a policy change, your agent will contact you. Please note that
coverage cannot be bound or changed until an agent has reviewed and approved
your request.
Claim Procedures
To report a claim, please contact
the insurance company claims department directly at the number located in
your policy. If property has been damaged, take necessary steps to prevent
further damage and do not dispose of any damaged property until directed to
do so by the insurance company claims adjuster. Alternatively, you may
report non-emergency claims to our office or use the
claim report form found here and an agent
will respond during normal business hours (M-F 8:30a-12:00p and 1:00p-5:00p
CST).
